*** Aerospace Quality / First Article Inspector ***
Job Description:
Seeking an Aerospace Quality / First Article Inspector to be based on-site supporting a customer programme in Wolverhampton, working full-time, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have hands-on inspection experience within aerospace and be confident performing First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102 standards.
The support will include:
- Interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Dimensional and visual inspection of complex aerospace components
- Conducting AS9102 First Article Inspections and preparing FAIRs
- Use of manual and automated inspection equipment
- Support with CMM inspection activities (Zeiss Calypso experience advantageous)
- Producing clear and accurate inspection reports
- Working with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues
- Supporting inspection needs during NPI phases
Experience requirements:
- Previous experience in aerospace quality inspection (FAI experience essential)
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good working knowledge of manual inspection tools (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, etc.)
- Experience within an AS9100 quality system
- Familiarity with CMMs or automated inspection systems advantageous
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Based within a commutable distance of Wolverhampton
The role falls inside IR35.
