Function: Supply Chain

Wolverhampton

 

Required Experience:

  • SRM & SAP system experience preferred (not essential)
  • Good communication skills, comfortable communicating at various levels with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Commercial acumen & negotiation experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase requisitions/orders in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Process Goods Receipt transactions and support the Goods In department with any delivery queries
  • Resolve Invoice Queries by liaising with the supplier and internal stakeholders to ensure timely payment
  • Manage & prioritise requisition requests.
  • Provide support to internal customers to advise them of the correct ordering & approval process
  • Have a thorough understanding of the relevant company Policies (including CPM17 etc), and ensure compliance. This may include but not be limited to:

o  Ensuring that NDA’s are in place with all suppliers who the company places orders with

o  Driving spend through preferred and contracted suppliers highlighting any suppliers where requisitions are placed with suppliers where there is no contract in place.

  • Encourage the business to use the preferred suppliers.  Identify opportunities from requisitions to channel spend to the preferred suppliers.
  • Obtain competitive quotations and renegotiate price where possible.
  • Use CORE tools and have a continuous improvement mindset to improve the processes.
  • Identify opportunities from the requisitions to remove unnecessary spend or suggest alternatives. 
  • Support the business to resolve escalated issues with suppliers.

 

Additionally for some sites:

  • Obtain delivery promises from the suppliers and expedite to ensure on time delivery.  Appropriately escalate to line manager if delivery dates will not be met. 
  • From time to time the successful candidate may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within the capabilities of the individual and where necessary training will be given.

 

Typical Educational Requirements:

  • A levels or equivalent
